Fishing Adventures in Cordova

Cordova is the outdoor adventure paradise. There is so much to see and do a lot of guests extend their stays after arriving and begin to see their stay is to short, to see just a little of what Cordova has to offer.

Cordova has whatever fishing adventures you are looking for. Great stream fishing, river fishing or salt water adventures for all salt water game fish in the Sound. Awesome marine sightseeing and breathtaking views for the price of a great day of fishing! Salmon shark fishing/ in Prince William Sound has become very popular due to the large amount of pink salmon that comes into the sound to spawn. The salmon shark along with the halibut follows the schools into the sound to feed.

July is normally the best time to hook up with the salmon shark. We run charters each day, our boat is in the water just out front of the Lighthouse Inn (we catch and release). We furnish all gear and bait and refreshments.

Halibut fishing

Cordova has great Halibut fishing within a close range of town, without riding for hours to get to the fishing grounds. We have daily trips from mid May thru mid September, best times are late May through mid September. We furnish all tackle, bait and refreshments.

Silver Salmon Fishing

Cordova is the Home of the giant silver salmon. Cordova has one of the best silver runs in Alaska, starting the first part of August through September and some years through October. 12 pound average, with catches of 14 to 15 pounds common with catches up to 23 + pounds. We run guided river trips each day of salmon season, 22 ft jet boat, with 140 hp Suzuki, seats up to 6 guests, includes gear as needed. We go down river and fish the banks and sand bars using chest waders, this is a great way to fish, gives everyone plenty of room to spin and fly fish.

Late June thru July it best for sockeye salmon fishing, sockeye is fly fish only. If you never fished for sockeye salmon on a fly rod, you are missing some great action.
