Cordova has miles and miles of well maintained hiking trails to explore. You can spend a day or a week exploring some of the great trails. The Cordova forestry service has all the info you will need to do self-hikes and the dos and don'ts while hiking in Cordova. There is so much to see and do...if you like berry picking, all the trails are loaded up with salmon berries, blue berries, hi bush and low bush cranberries, and watermelon berries, to name a few. The forest service has brochures of all trails, brochures on different berries, plants and wild flowers.

Wildlife in Cordova is incredible, we are sitting on Prince William Sound, with all the bird and marine life, the sound has to offer, with Chugach mountains on one side and the Copper River Delta on the other side, this is 3 different eco systems meeting each other. Bald Eagles and sea otters are a common sight in Cordova, along with all types of waterfowl and bird life. Cordova is also home of the Shore Bird Festival and the Cordova Wild Salmon festival; visit this website to find dates and more info on all on all of Cordova’s upcoming events in 2010.

Prince William Sound Science Center, located in Cordova, is an amazing research center for the Sound, world renown for the research it does, marine life and plant life, in all of its amazing forms. The center has Discovery room for kids and all types of field trips during the year. For a better understanding of the wonderful work done by the science center and the amazing eco system that is PWS, visit their website. Be sure to visit the center while in Cordova.
